Back for its third edition, Junipero Gin is proud to continue to host this year’s Martini Week. What started in 2022 in SF as a tribute to where both the martini and Junipero Gin were born, is expanding to cities like Oakland, Sacramento, Chicago, Atlanta, Nashville, Brooklyn, and Milwaukee. The week is devoted to bringing together martini enthusiasts and martini novices alike to raise a glass to doing good while enjoying a good cocktail. Local bars and restaurants in every participating city will be crafting their take on some of the best martini recipes featuring Junipero Gin’s bold unfiltered expression while raising funds for The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® and other local organizations. Out of all the fun things to do in your city, Junipero Gin's celebration of martinis is all about enjoying this legendary classic in a way that is uniquely you
Raise a Glass with us to all those with a challenger mindset. We cheer on everyone bold enough to thwart convention by being themselves – Living Life Unfiltered. Junipero celebrates bold choices, encouraging you to find the martini variation you enjoy most. There is no one or right way to order a martini – whether you like it dry or dirty, shaken or stirred, or with an olive or a twist – the art of ordering a martini is something that is uniquely individual, much like this eccentric city that we call home.
Without a doubt, martinis have been instrumental to cocktail culture worldwide. But, firmly grounded as one of the greatest classics, a hot debate always comes up: where do martinis come from? The answer? The San Francisco Bay Area. A reigning theory ties the origins of the martini directly to the mid-1800s Gold Rush in Northern CA.
Proudly born in San Francisco, CA, Junipero launched the American craft gin movement in the 90s with its handcrafted, unfiltered expression. Still made in San Francisco today, Junipero’s bold flavors are the ideal canvas for creating the perfect martini. This Martini Week™, let Junipero Gin bring you a taste of the cocktail that has led a revolution and find a martini that is uniquely you.
We are excited to throw this weeklong celebration and continue raising funds for The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence® – a longstanding LGBTQIA+ charitable organization whose roots in San Francisco go back to 1979, and now have chapters worldwide.
The Sisters put the funds they raise towards supporting local organizations and projects that provide direct services to under-served and embattled communities. Following their vows to "expiate stigmatic guilt and promulgate universal joy," they use humor and irreverent wit to expose the forces of bigotry, complacency and guilt that chain the human spirit. As Martini Week™ is expanding to more cities, so is our support for The Sisters! Funds raised this year will go towards the following regional chapters: The Mother House in San Francisco, The Capitol City Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Los Angeles Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc., The Order of the Flaming Sugarbakers, The Abbey of the Windy City Sisters, The Boston Sisters - Convent of the Commonwealth, The NYC (dis)Order, and Music City Sisters.
